This is What You Need to Know about The Callaway Big Bertha B21 Driver

Callaway’s new high-launch driver, the B21 driver (which increases ball speed) is Callaway’s first driver to have a low forward centre of gravity. Low and forward CGs are usually reserved for less forgiving, high speed, low spin drivers, but Callaway insist this is a new low-spin recipe for distance and accuracy at average swing speeds.

Is there enough tech?

Like Callaway’s Mavrik driver the B21 driver also has Jailbreak bar behind the head to maximise ball speed. Additionally, the Flash Face is lighter and more durable in titanium. The crown also features a Triaxial carbon crown. This will ensure that every drop of performance is reabsorbed.

Callaway claims that the new model of B21 is more spacious from front to back. The triangular shapes make it easier for people to forgive. Each head has an internal draw bias to counteract distance-zapping slices.

Callaway Suits have developed a totally new shaft that can be used with the B21 steelwoods. Because it is light and slim, with an active tip section, the shaft naturally increases loft at impact. Therefore shots are shot higher for maximum carry. There’s also a specially selected new grip for the target golfer, Golf Pride’s Tour 360 Soft.

Our verdict: While this driver looks great and is great for fixing a slice, it was the feeling at impact that made many of our testers ask if the driver could take home the BB B21. I love the feel, launches high and it’s extra forgiving. It was by far my favorite.” Every market pick is independently selected by the editorial staff. Links may result in GOLF.COM earning a fee. THE OUR TAKE But don’t sleep on the aesthetics. Testers say “the sapphire Blue with a Splash of Red just does it for us.” Some were also curious if it was possible to take home the club. “I love the feeling, can you get a triple-love? Extra forgiving, launches high. One person stated that this was her favorite. Is it more appealing for aesthetic reasons and is it also more open-minded? It’s the ideal pairing. DETAILS: Callaway sought to create the perfect combination of speed and spin by changing up his driver formula. Callaway moved Callaway’s CG lower and more forward in order to lessen spin. The thought here is that reducing overall spin will also reduce the sidespin that causes wayward shots to go out of play. It’s a spin-killer with plenty of consistency and forgiveness. When they are finding more fairways, this package will surely be appreciated by any high-handicap slicer. Callaway utilized its Flash Face SS21 technology to help with mishits. This was made possible by Artificial Intelligence. Review 150+ of our Gear Experts in the ClubTest 2021 Collection View Product Details: Callaway updated the traditional driver recipe by positioning the CG lower and forward to reduce spin. To reduce sidespin, Callaway believes that this will eliminate the possibility of wayward shots being lost. The end result is a spin-killer that doesn’t skimp on consistency and forgiveness. You will love it, high-handicap slicers alike.

Driver Review for the Callaway Big Bertha V Series

Callaway Golf brought back an old favourite last year in the shape of Big Bertha Alpha and Big Bertha Alpha. With the introduction of the V Series, the company is expanding its product line.

This is what you should share with your golfing buddies.

Callaway’s reintroduction as a Big Bertha driver made quite a splash at the start of 2014. It was a huge success to bring back perhaps the most famous name of the company’s past. Big Bertha Alpha was the first driver to allow golfers the ability to modify the club’s vertical center of gravity. Also popular was the Standard version, which offered golfers many options to customize their clubs for their needs. Lucky enough to have been the Big Bertha driver reviewer, it was one I kept in my bag for an extended period. It eventually lost its spot to a Callaway driver called the FT Optiforce 440 which I reviewed just a few minutes before.

Big Bertha V Series. Although some may think it’s meant to replace 2014 Big Bertha, this is not true. The V Series driver is really an upgrade to my beloved FT Optiforce. First, I was disappointed in the V Series driver’s lack of many bells and whistles from the Big Bertha. The V Series driver lacks sliding weights and Gravity Cores. The only thing that is adjustable at the club is the hosel. This is because the Optifit hosel has been standardised on all Callaway clubs. Don’t be fooled by the absence of many amenities, it still packs a powerful punch. Continue reading to see the complete review.

The Callaway Big Bertha V Series driver was given to me with the stiff-flex stock Mitsubishi Bassara shaft. The club came with an 10.5deg head. However, it is possible to adjust the settings so that it plays as low or high as 12.5deg. Along with the driver, the match 3 wood was included. It also came with the exact same shaft. These were the Stock Callaway grips. They are Tour Velvets.

Callaway Big Bertha V Series has a lot of appeal from an aesthetic standpoint. The 2014 version of the Big Bertha adopted a navy, red, and silver color scheme. Although I love being patriotic and the look of the club didn’t really appeal to me, The V Series is a lot closer to the FT Optiforce than the driver it replaces. The crown features a glossy black paint job which is complimented by a black PVD face. My preference is to have no alignment aids but the V Series adopts the Callaway Chevron emblem. The logo is simple and easy to understand. Bottom continues dark theme with red accent lines. White lettering. About my only complaint from a looks point of view is the goofy medallion on the bottom of the club. Callaway uses the Isaac Newton cartoon in the medallion. The phrase “You Can’t Argue with Physics” is also included.

It is exactly what it says, matching. Same paint job, same alignment aid, same goofy medallion on the bottom. This is the driver’s smaller version. You’re fine.
