Callaway MAVRIK SUB-ZERO driver: Two fitters noticed that it spins very slow, with the other pointing out it is intended for better ball strikers. Additionally, he noted that strikes at the toe perform better than hits on the heel.
Multiple fitters – and their clients – have commented on the improved sound compared to the Epic Flash. The fitters were also impressed with the shape, one stating it’s the “best looking Callaway head” in some years.
Callaway Flash Face SS20 Technology received a strong endorsement from a fitter. Each model has its own face, which he said is designed to aid different kinds of misses. Because of this, he stated, “We can literally fit any golfer who walks through the door into a MAVRIK driver.”

Review: Callaway Mavrik Sub-Zero Driver
Winning again the Gamer Spot Any brand is fine, so long as it offers the best performance. As I test clubs from all the different companies, they all have a chance to earn the coveted “gamer” spot in my bag. Callaway has held this driver position for the last four years. The Mavrik Sub-Zero Driver is likely to win the 2020 spot.
Callaway Mavrik Sub-Zero Drive is a slight improvement to the Epic Flash. This was not a major technological leap or dramatic design change, it’s a refined version of an existing excellent driver. Although the names were changed, the Mavrik still looks and feels exactly like other Callaway models. It features Jailbreak, Flash Face. Adjustable hosel. Weights can be interchanged. Acoustics were carefully designed. Many of these features are familiar from previous models. It is even better thanks to the new design, combination and tweaks.
Most noticeable changes in the Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero Driver are those that affect sound. The Epic had really great sound, the Epic Flash was rather harsh and the Mavrik is back to that great sound like the Epic. It has a soothing muted sound that is really relaxing to the ears. The A.I. Although the A.I. They modified the A.I. The Mavrik was retooled and provided the same benefits to Flash Face. However, the sound quality was greatly enhanced.
Confidence was the key to my winning again for gamer. The new Callaway driver is just as good because it feels, looks, and performs the same way every time that I hit it. I don’t have to adjust, think or chance my swing to get the most out of it. Instant confidence means that I can perform on the golf course with a high level of performance. From the start, I am able to reach for the fences. You can also have some extra favorites shafts for testing and installation. But, even with all this confidence, if the shaft didn’t work, I would remove it from service and assign it to another worthy driver.
Callaway Mavrik Sub-Zero Driver
In the 9.0* the winner of the gamer slots was Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI. It still offers plenty of launch, especially when compared to the larger weight on the back. This head is also a great partner for the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 60g stiff shaft. In the head, I used the KBS TD shaft as well as the Graphite Design Tour ADVR shaft. I left the hosel alone in the neutral position and found that my preferred shot shape is just straight, and misses could go both directions. The solution isn’t going to be for all major swing flaws. This is probably anti-left more than anti-right.
After testing the Callaway Mavrik Su-Zero Driver, its performance is still the main reason why it remains in the bag. This club performed slightly differently to the Epic Flash. The club was fast and I experienced a little less spin. The combination is now just a little bit longer. The Epic Flash was long enough for me, but I am now a lot longer.
