The Basics

So what exactly does $350 (or around $15 per month on a Verizon installment plan) actually get you? A lot of compromises packed into an admittedly adorable body. Although the first Palm smartphone is not a great looking phone, it’s actually quite a nice design. This sleek and round thing (intentionally or not) mimics Palm Pre’s “river stone” look. It is small, but it does not look like a credit card. The only visual features on the phone are the Palm logo that has been stylized (which can easily be mistakenly misinterpreted as “Plam”), and the visible 12-megapixel camera bulge around the back. Physical controls are the same: The screen has a single power button, and one capacitive touch. A USB-C port runs along the lower edge of the screen, while a SIM tray is on the right.

With its minimalist design, you won’t be distracted by the 3.3-inch IPS LCD screen. This screen is 720p and it’s actually quite nice. The screen’s small dimensions mean that we have a resolution of 445PPI. This puts it within the same range as the iPhone XS Max. The screen is bright and easy to read, even though I have rapidly declining eyesight. For a screen this small, I’d call that a plus.

Gallery: Palm Phone: 12 Photos. Here are some more details. The screen has a tiny 8MP camera that can be used for taking selfies. There is no microSD slot so the 32GB storage will suffice. Perhaps the most important thing about the Palm is its body. When you look at it, though, IP68 is the rating for water- and dust-resistance. After all, if there were ever a phone that I’d drunkenly drop into a beer, we’re looking at it.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that the Palm’s unique proportions will draw lots of attention. Out of all the devices I tried this year, new iPhones included, but not the pretty Huawei. The Palm received the highest number of people asking questions and doing double-takes. It’s true, I was initially skeptical about the whole idea. But the amount of people that said the Palm was what they needed forced me to reconsider. The Palm was the perfect solution for me, at least for a short time.

What We don’t Like

01 Hardware, design, and software 02 Performance, 04 Battery, 05 Camera, 05 Pricing, availability, and 06 Specs. 07 Conclusion. Updated April 4, 2019, 10:00 AM ET. The following review is based on the Palm Phone being used as a companion phone. You can purchase the Palm Phone standalone, which eliminates the need for pairing it with your primary smartphone.

The device is still only available through Verizon , but the good news is that from now until May 1, 2019, the device is only (assuming you sign a two-year contract with Verizon). You can also enjoy 50 percent off all Palm Phone accessories if you buy between now and April 18.

You can exchange your Palm Phone to Verizon to get a discounted standalone version. However, it is not possible to turn a companion phone into a standalone.

You can click on the below button to start your brand new Palm Phone.

Original review, December 4, 2018, at 03:05 P.M. ET. Palm is an iconic brand that will live on in the hearts of people until the end. The company created phones and webOS, an operating system that gained a loyal following even though it was unable to remain in business.

Many hoped that TCL would bring new life to the Chinese-owned company when it bought Palm from HP in 2014. TCL recently brought a new Palm smartphone on the market.

The Palm Phone, which runs webOS instead of Android, is an Android-powered phone with a custom launcher. This device is technically a standalone smartphone. However, users can use it as a companion to their primary mobile phone on weekends.

The November launch of the Nokia XpressMusic 900 is available in standalone form.

Palm said in a blog post on Thursday that “you told us you want to use Palm as the main smartphone” Palm Phone would be brought along with you when your main phone is not in use.

It’s an option but it is not mandatory. You can get a Palm Phone number and data plan.

“Palm was made to support people living outside their screens. It’s the perfect gadget for running, cycling and exercising, or for the minimalist who doesn’t want to feel weighed down by their smartphone,” stated the company.

Palm also made it possible to be used as a standalone phone. This is in addition to improving the camera and battery life. These were two major gripes we had during our review. The updates are already available in the standalone version and are slated to roll out to companion handsets “later this month.” Palm stated that the updated camera includes enhanced HDR, color balance, and low-light performance. “The battery life has been improved to allow for more time of use.”

This is definitely worth it. When You Consider How Much We Use Our Phone, It’S About Time Someone Came Up With A Smaller, Mini Version That Can Go Everywhere, For Times When You Don’T Need Anything But The Basics.

The super-compact Palm smartphone is a great way for you to lighten up your phone and unplug. This is a small team of entrepreneurs truly innovating technology in our era. They are innovative, passionate, and change how we connect to each other while also staying connected to the wider world.

Review of the Palm Phone: Small, portable and pointless

Cam Bunton * Contributing editor

With a price of nearly PS350, it’s hard to see where the true value is in the new Palm smartphone. Yes, it’s cute, it’s eye-catching. However, smartwatches would still be an excellent companion to your larger smartphone and come at the same price. If you’re after a smartphone with all the functions at a low price, there are cheaper and far more capable options.

Obviously it’s very portable

Attractive design

Useful for running

Use as a music player while on-the-go

Far too expensive

What Is The Point Of The Palm Phone?

While the Palm may be a smartphone in essence, it is not a phone. Its main function is to turn off technology. It syncs to your primary phone so you receive all your notifications and calls, but its Life Mode feature silences all alerts until you wake the screen.Jun 23, 2019

Are You able to use the Palm Phone as your sole phone?

Palm cannot be used with a primary Android or iOS smartphone. Your Palm must sync with your phone through Number Share Mobile. No matter where your primary smartphone is, your Palm connected device can accept calls and message.

How Long Can a Palm Phone Last?

Palm has Life Mode which gives it an all-day battery. Palm Life Mode users can easily last through the day using Palm’s intended usage. Charge time: about 68 minutes.May 30, 2019
