Ping G25 Driver Review

James Langmead Ping G25 Driver Review – Now we’re going to review all the information that is available on the Ping G25 Driver, one of many popular game improvement drivers. We’ll come up with the ultimate review and figure out if the Ping G25 Driver turns out to be as good as it is advertised to be.

Keep in mind that while we are able to review the product information and present it to you personally, we also gather reviews from other websites, magazines, or advertisements. You can now find all the information you need about the Ping G25 driver in one place.

Keep in mind that some of those reviews from golf magazines and websites will be paid for by advertisers, leading to biased reviews that are unfairly positive.

Ping has attracted a lot of attention because Bubba Watson became the Masters’ spokesman in 2012. This means that most golfers have some familiarity with the line of Ping clubs.

Let’s begin by looking at some official specifications and information regarding the Ping G25Driver.

Specifications PingG25 Driver. To begin, there’s a couple of constants. Every version of Ping G25 Driver is available with no offset or a 58 degree lie angle. Headweight is constant at D3 at 205g. Maximum head size at 460cc is at D3 at 460cc. The D3 swing weight and all club versions are suitable for left or right handed players.

In addition, the club comes in a standard length of 45.75 inches. Thus, the only variable specification is the loft of the driver. Ping G25 Drivers come in four loft options: 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 12. The loft can also be adjusted one-half degrees either direction, which allows golfers to adjust their trajectory and maximize distance.

Review: Ping G25 Driver

Ping made it easier to drive the ball. The driver is what most amateurs have difficulty with. Many pros also have driver problems. Each of us is just searching for something quicker and easier. I wish it were that easy, but with G25 it is. I found it to be an easier and longer combo than previous G series Ping drivers. The G series has been Ping bread and butter driver for years, even many of their tour staff prefer the forgiving model. They want to hit fairways just like we want to hit fairways so having the most forgiving driver is key, yet no one wants to give up yardage. G25 gives you both.

For 2013, there is a color change in the G25 to match the drivers Ping recently made. The matterblack is very similar to Anser’s driver, and is also available in the i20. This color looks great on any driver. You can see the difference at home. This matte black look tough. It also has a black sole with a small Ping and G25 at the bottom. This makes it a very attractive stick. New for 2013, is the adjustment hosel. Ping’s first adjustable driver was the Anser. The same hosel can be found in the G25 driver. The driver can be adjusted to fit better, although it’s not as sophisticated or flexible as the other drivers.

The shaft options for the stock options are less than those of Anser drivers. TFC189 is currently the only stock choice. As Ping encourages all clubs to fit, I decided to go in and had a fitting. The TFC189 Tour Stiff shaft generated a lot of spin. I purchased mine with the Graphite Design DI 7 second shaft to lower spin. TFC 189 is stiffer, but spin was more high. The DI offers a lower launch speed and spin, while the DI has a lower spin. Make sure you get in shape and figure out what combo you like best. The Diamana Ahina shaft from my Anser worked great on windy days. You have many options to fit the head and adjust it to your liking. Get in shape to make the most of this driver that is long, yet forgiving.

My first rounds with this driver were at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Due to the prolonged winter here in Minnesota, it had been over a month since I last played. Just like any other person with a weak swing at a difficult course, my primary goal was to be able to hit the fairways. The G25 makes you feel confident just by looking at it. This big, black matte head looks great behind the ball. The face is tall enough to make it feel easy to find the center. And the width means that winter can be played with grace. At the first tee I had both jitters as well as confidence so I swing fast and hit a big bomb to the middle. It felt so good. You couldn’t have asked for more. You got more of what you were used to from that round, and so it was for the remainder of the rounds. The average score was 10. It was a good result considering the year’s timing. Out of 4 missed fairways, 2 were only barely missed. The other one was wide enough to be playable while the last was the result a very bad swing. (if you look at the pictures down at the bottom of the review you can see how far off the center of the face I was on that bad swing) No driver can fix all your problems, but the Ping G25 is about as forgiving of a driver as you can buy.

moves closer to the i20 in terms of sound and feel. While the i20 still sounds and feels the most powerful, I think the G25 has a similar sound and feel to the i20, though it is slightly more hollow. It is a low pitched metallic sound at impact that sends the ball screaming out into the fairway.

TFC 189, the stock TFC, is an excellent shaft. It’s very close, feels solid, launches well, and runs very smoothly. There is nothing wrong with the shaft in any way. It seems to fit a lot of golfers, my guess. But I unfortunately spin the ball too much with 99% of stock shafts. I always seem to need a lower spin shaft in my driver. It was for this reason that I purchased the DI. This shaft is one of my favorite shafts. The G25’s Graphite Design feels super smooth and has a high spin, but low launch. The DI shaft is very precise and I was able to find the perfect fit for my G25. Due to the DI having a lower spin, the TFC 189 was able to move to the DI and add 10 yards. Now too low of spin can have a negative impact on drives, so start with the TFC 189 and go from there.

I found the G25 was just a little longer than the distances I was hitting the G20. I attribute my distance gain to the lower spin and launch. I can’t say I hit it way further than any thing else out there, but it sure is easy to hit a long ways. At the end of the day that is what it is all about, I don’t want to work too hard or need the stars align just so I can hit a long drive, I just want it to happen automatically with each drive. The G25 was able to do exactly that.

Ping Driver Pros

Our next stage in the Ping G25 Driver Reviews is to discuss what we love about that particular driver.

This club is stunning! PING continues to be strong in their brand. This can be seen by how well-known the golf clubs of PING are.

It’s easy to use for novice golfers. The ability to enhance performance, and improve the comfort of beginners’ swings has been documented.

Distance: Golfers with all levels of ability are constantly looking for ways to increase their drive’s length.

Accuracy: A lot of golfers are not good at driving accurately. However, a more patient and understanding golf driver can help.

The Adjustable Loft is an option that allows for greater flexibility than most drivers.

Review: Why the Ping G25 Driver is Best for Beginners – Reviews by Golf Driver

Shahan Kil Golf Club Reviews 0 comments Ping G25 Driver Review. Before I tell anyone about my favorite driver, it’s the Ping G25. However, before I dive into all the details of the club, I wanted to briefly describe what I consider a good driver for beginner golfers.

The G25 must be intuitive to use. Let’s take a moment to enjoy this review… Simplicity. What makes a driver easy to use? A driver that does not require manual adjustment is my preference. But, for a new player, this should never be a problem. The G25 employs Ping’s Trajectory Tuning (TM) Technology that allows the golfer to add or subtract a half-degree of loft to the club Read G25 Driver Reviews on Amazon

The PING wrench is used to adjust the hosel. It’s similar to a tiny Philips head screwdriver. Increase the loft angle to get more backspin. But, this will result in a lower ball flight and greater distance.

Reduce the club face angle to get a flatter ball flight and less loft. This reduces backspin on the ball which can result in a greater distance.

While these types of minor adjustments may be useful for professional golfers, I simply left the driver in its default ‘stock’ set-up and let it rip!

The Sweet Spot The Ping G25’s 460cc head is similar to others, but it has an enormous profile! A larger head means a sweet spot that is more generous than with other drivers. It’s great, because you can hit the ball slightly off center and still have it go straight. Because I have a large sweet spot, I don’t need to hit it perfectly every time. I can do what I want. It’s another reason that I love this golf club.

There’s just one thing that makes this sweet: SWEET!

ping g25 driver review

This is The Club’s Course Performance:

The black color of the driver makes it look sleek, powerful and confidence-inspiring, at least to me. Its looks were impressive, particularly for a driver that can be adjusted by the user. It looks ready to rip as soon as it’s put behind the ball.

After hitting the ball, I discovered that the PING G25 Driver is a sturdy club. The shaft was shorter than normal, making it easier to control. Even though my swing is not fast enough, the ball flew high. It was easy to find the sweet spot, too. While most drives I took went straight up and high, there were times when I felt I had to draw (hitting an inadvertent fade was harder).

It seemed like it was going off my face when I flushed it. The sound at impact felt solid and satisfying to me. You don’t get that “tincan sound” with certain drivers. The feeling was equally solid as the sound.

My off-center hits still flew pretty far, although there was some loss of distance. Overall my misses hit went pretty straight.

PING G25 Driver – The bottom line PING did what it does best with its clubs. This driver is a great choice for players with average-to high handicaps who want extra distance and all of the forgiveness PING has to offer. Bubba, his pink model and other better players can both use the shaft to move the ball. However, it is also an excellent performer for all of us. You can control speed, distance, and control with the stock shaft. You can even adjust the loft up or down half a degree (by the way, when you decrease the loft you’ll also open the face slightly; when you increase the loft you close the face a bit). There is only one problem with it: $385 is the MSRP. It makes playing this exciting game much easier with the PING G25 Driver. A gently used one is always an option.
