PING is focusing on one thing in their marketing for the G425 Hybrid. Spinsistency is a term they invented (which they use on their fairway woods). This is not idle talk. The PING G425 is, from what I can see, the best-maintained hybrid on the marketplace.

Let’s discuss spin. It’s no secret that spin rates are wildly affected by the launch of a hybrid or the observation of the ball’s flight at the range. If you take a short shot, your spin rate will jump all the way to the moon. High face impact might launch a knuckleball. The G425, in my extensive testing, did not produce any such results. I enjoyed swinging with this club. The spin rate was ideal: low enough that you can go long, strong and hold the green.

Another example is the G425 Hybrid, which launched nearly all of its shots on a medium trajectory. While you have the option to fly your shots higher, or lower than the standard shot, it will always fly just below a well-struck iron long iron.

Although I was impressed by the consistency of the G425’s performance, it was not surprising that they were forgiving. I was surprised by the speed of the ball at the ends. Although this may not be fair, the G410 hybrid took quite a while to complete – but I have never considered PING hybrids distance beasts. Even though opinions may differ, you can’t deny that the G425 offers elite ball speeds. You should even consider buying the G425 for those players, like me, who use them as fairway woods.

As its predecessor, G410 hybrid, it can be adjusted at the hosel. The adapter has eight positions that allow for loft adjustments of up to 1.5 degrees and down, as well as flattening the angle by 3 degrees.

PING has three shaft options for the G425 hybrid. The PING Alta CB Slate is the default option, designed for stability and high launch with counter balanced weighting. For a lower spin and launch, you can get the Aldila Rogue Black 95. For its counter-balanced weighting, middle launch and spin, I chose the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro Orange 80.

Ping’s G410 hybrids might be the best solution if you have trouble hitting longer irons.

Now more forgiving than the G400s due to the fact the head has been made larger, the Ping hybrids offer a huge variety of options thanks to five separate rescues which are all fully adjustable.

G410 hybrids clubs are worth serious consideration due to their improved speed for increased ball speed, distance and the ability shape shots more accurately than previous models.

They are easy to hit, and provide plenty of distance.
