Performance

After my recent experience with the HL4 fairway wood (review HERE ), my expectations for the HL4 driver were quite high. The club delivered.

From the first range session, I could see that the Hot Launch 4 was consistent. While the stock UST Mamiya didn’t suit me well, that allowed for head forgiveness. Even though my balls were not being hit flush, I maintained a consistent ball speed shot after shot. This is due to the HL4’s Titanium Cup Face Face and Variable Face Thickness.

Low spin and high launch were another thing that was consistent. This head has a very deep center of gravity, so it wants to put the ball onto high trajectories. With the low spin, drives tend to flatten out after initial launch, carry, and then run out. Low spin players can even see range balls that knuckle due to lack of spin.

Two versions of the Tour Edge driver HL4 are available. This straight neck is available in lofts of 9, 10, and 12, respectively. An offset model is available in the following lofts: 10.5, 12 and 13.5 degrees.

How can the Tour Edge Hl4 driver be adjusted?

Tour Edge HL4 doesn’t have many bells or whistles. It doesn’t have adjustable weights or slots or interchangable shafts. It is a basic driver head on a shaft.

Is Tour Edge Clubs a Good Idea?

Tour Edge regularly produces clubs that are ranked in the top 10 of each category. Hot Launch is a high-quality, affordable lineup that’s popular with new players. The Exotics CBX and fairwaywoods were used by many Champions Tour players throughout 2018, including several winners.
