The MSI GS66 Stealth begins at $1799 and features a 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-10750H process with a 16GB SSD and an Intel UHD Graphics GPU. There is also a 1TB NVMe SSD with an Intel UHD Graphics RTX3060 GPU and 240Hz display.
The Mid-tier model starts at $2,399. It includes a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-10850H, 32GB Ram, a 1TB NVMe Flash Drive, an Intel UHD Graphics Graphics, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3270 Max-Q GPU with 8GBs of VRAM, and a 15.6inch 1920 x 1080 Pixel display.
The most expensive model, priced at $2999, includes a 2TB NVMe SD, an Intel UHD Graphics GPU, 16GB of VRAM and a 15.6″ 1920×1080 resolution display.
I’m reviewing a yet to-be-released model will be released in Q2 and pricing is TBD. It comes with a 2.2-GHz Intel Core i7-10850H Core CPU, 16GB SSD, an Intel UHD Graphics GPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX3080 with 16GBs RAM and a 15.6″ 1920 x1080-pixel LCD display.
Review of Msi Gs66 Stealth
Gaming laptops appear to constantly evolve due to QHD Treatment. It’s not easy to find the right balance between thermals and frame rates. This is especially true as new design trends force these powerful mobile computers into lighter, more compact form factors. Often, it’s a game of sacrifice to take your game on the go. This is what I intend to find out with this review of MSI GS66stealth. It comes equipped with the latest RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics processor and a 1440p (QHD) IPS display that runs at 240Hz. This particular configuration won’t be out until Q2 of this year, but will land near the cutting edge of mobile gaming performance. Let’s look closely at this configuration and discover what it can offer.

The part number for the UK is 10SE-040UK. For the US it’s 10SE 039.
This model features a 240Hz LCD screen and RTX2060 graphics. It also includes a Core i7-10750H core processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
These prices are competitive with other key contenders. Razer Blade 15 models are not available without an RTX2060 and a 240Hz screens. For $1,799 (around AU$3,699), you can get a Razer Blade 15 model with an RTX2060 and an Intel 10th Gen Core CPU.
For a faster display, you’ll have to spend $2,099 (PS1,919, around AU$5,099) for an RTX 2070, a 9th Gen CPU and a 240Hz panel or $2,599 (PS2,649, around AU$5,299) for a 10th Gen CPU, 300Hz screen and RTX 2070 Super Max-Q GPU.
The new Asus Zephyrus G14 is a smaller contender, with a new AMD CPU, RTX 2060 graphics and a 14in, 120Hz display. That machine costs $1,699 (PS1,699, around AU$3,000), so it virtually matches the MSI when it comes to price.
There are also pricier MSI GS66 Stealth models. The models that combine the 240Hz display with RTX2070 hardware will cost you $2,599 (around AU$3,799). While laptops equipped with RTX2070 Super, RTX2080 Super, or 300Hz screens are available for purchase at $4,299 (around AU$4,499) and $3,099 respectively (around AU$4,499), they can also be purchased with RTX2080 and RTX2070 super GPUs. Prices range between $3,99 and 499 (PS3,399) to around AU$6,099) and 4,299 (PS2,499) and 499,99,299 and AU$6,099).
Graphics Performance
To get a feel for the graphics performance of the MSI GS66 Stealth, we’ll kick this off with 3DMark Time Spy’s DirectX12 graphics test. The test is synthetic but very repeatable. The graphics subcore doesn’t measure CPU performance but only the GPU.
While the results are good, they don’t come close to being as quick as other models. Worse, the XPG Xenia 15 with its RTX2070 non-Super is running at neck-and-neck. In mostly older tests such as FireStrike, which is a DirectX 11 test, the GS66 Stealth just can’t open up any space between itself and other similar-sized laptops with lower-tier GPUs.
3DMark’s Port Royal Ray Tracing tests showed that the song was approximately the same. The GS66 Stealth had a decent performance, although it was always looking around.
We ran a couple of games such as the older Rise of the Tomb Raider which is a DirectX 11 title. The GS66 Stealth is again in a good position and offers plenty of performance, but we just expected more.
The battery life is perhaps the most crucial test on a laptop that is this small (and yes 4.6-pounds is light enough for so much hardware). To test the battery life, set the display brightness at 250 to 260 nits. We also enable airplane mode. The volume was adjusted to the middle setting. After that, we created a loop using Windows 10’s Movies & TV application. Also, we set the GS66 Stealth’s Power Saver option. This is what most users would use if they really wanted to prolong the battery.
The result is a very good finish, with nearly 7 hours of run time. There will be variations in your mileage and the test itself is fairly lightweight. The battery should last 25% to 30% if you are just browsing the internet. Cut down to 2 hours if you are encoding a video or doing intensive CPU tasks. You will likely get more time than that if your GPU is plugged in.
This laptop still has a great battery life. MSI makes the most of its 99.9-Watt hour battery.
Review of the Msi Gs66 Stealth (2021), A Powerful, But Expensive Machine!
Global gaming is in a difficult spot right now. Gaming enthusiasts often find that they have to pay a premium in order to get the perfect build. Gaming laptops are becoming increasingly popular as gamers look for replacements to the GPU scarcity. MSI wants to provide them with a comprehensive package, including its MSI GS66 Stealth 2020 gaming laptop refreshment. It was unveiled with a stunning display, new RTX 30 series graphics, and other features earlier this year. It is a mobile gaming machine that rivals Asus’ Zephyrus or Strix. The MSI GS66 Stealth looks sleek and powerful. Here’s what I have to say about the MSI Stealth GS66 after using it for nearly a month.
MSI GS66 Stealth Stealth review I have been using my MSI GS66 Stealth every day for nearly a year now. The combination of daily work, entertainment, gaming, and other activities is my personal preference. MSI GS66Stealth laptop configuration I’ve been using has a QHD LCD screen and GeForce RTX3080 graphics. So without further ado, jump in and read about my experience:
Msi Gs66 Stealth Design – Ups And Downs
The GS66 Stealth gaming laptop is a big deal. With its mix of beautiful looks and useful stumbling blocks, it has a lot to be proud of.
This MSI Stealth laptop is great looking. It’s a version of the Razer Blade 15, but it has a much more subtle appearance thanks to the embossed logo in black, instead of Razer’s garish green.
MSI’s Stealth line starts at 15′′ in size. That means you don’t need to hide it in your everyday work bag.
Instead of being able to move from one room to another in the house, or maybe to a friend’s, the MSI GS66 stealth is larger.
In terms of looks and quality, the MSI gives off a great first impression. Its all-black chassis is stunning. You can open the laptop and see the theme – super-premium with no frills.
But, when the first time you open your laptop, it’s likely that the problem is already obvious: the laptop’s fingerprint magnet and smudge magnet are more powerful than any laptop I’ve ever reviewed.
You’ll soon end up with a greasy and unattractive device even if you don’t touch it as much.
Stealth Performance for MsiGs66 Modern Goodness

Our review model is a SKU that’s specific to Currys PC World in the UK and costs PS1699. The Intel Core i7-10750H graphics card, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD are all included in this package.

The GS66 can read sequentially up to 560MB/s and write sequentially 5 times faster than a hard disk. MSI also made some changes to the hinge, making it feel stronger, as well as a stiffer, more reinforced chassis that gives the notebook extra durability. That said, weighing in at 4.6 pounds, the GS66 is half a pound heavier than outgoing GS65 . MSI made sure that the Stealth’s touchpad was larger. While most people will probably connect an external mouse for gaming, the extra-wide glass touchpad is a very welcome addition for everything else. You will find that the touchpad can be difficult to position so you don’t have to go to every corner when your mouse is in use. Although there were a few instances where the cursor appeared to wander across the screen from time to time, my mousing and gestures seemed very natural.
The GS66’s sound quality has been greatly improved by the addition of two upward-firing speakers at the deck’s bottom. These speakers produce a richer, more direct audio. On the sides, there are a number of ports available, including 2 USB-C ports (1 of which supports Thunderbolt 3), 2 USB-A ports (2 of which support Thunderbolt 3), HDMI, gigabit ethernet and a 3.5mm Audio Jack.
The GS66’s new components are even more important. MSI offers configs that include a 300Hz screen, an 8-core Intel i9-107980HK CPU and an Nvidia 2080 super GPU. A fully-equipped GS66 will run you around $2,500 if your budget allows for the highest-quality components. But, as the $2,250 review unit demonstrates (which includes an Intel i7 CPU, 32GB Ram, and a 2070 Super GPU), solid performance does not require a heavily loaded system.
In Far Cry 5 at 1080p and ultra graphics, the GS66 averaged 96 fps, which was easily boosted to well over 120 by turning graphics down to high. But for those who really want to take advantage of the GS66’s 240Hz or 300Hz displays, games like Overwatch are a much better choice with the Stealth hitting 270 fps on at 1080p on high settings. That’s getting into pro esports territory where every extra frame could mean the difference between getting a shot off or dying. And as an added feather in the cap, the GS66 consistently outperformed a similarly specced Gigabyte Aorus 17G across a number of games by around five to 10 percent, despite the Aorus 17 being a larger 17-inch laptop with more room for better cooling.
The GS66’s 99.9 Whr new battery, which is the FAA limit on what you can bring on a plane, gave the GS66 a nice advantage. Despite being a power-hungry gaming laptop the GS66 lasted for 5 hours and 53 mins on our video rundown. It’s nearly an hour-and-a-half faster than the GS65 (3:23), but more than 2 hours slower than Gigabytes Aorus 17G (3,49). Even though the GS66 has a shorter battery life than a traditional ultraportable of eight hours, it is still a significant improvement over the GS65’s (4:23) and more than two hours longer that Gigabyte’s Aorus 17G (3:49).
The GS66 has a couple of major flaws. First of all, with a screen brightness rating of just 317 nits the GS66 is quite average. While most laptops this cost range are around 400 nits or more, gaming notebooks tend to be much brighter. The Stealth’s screen brightness is average for notebooks of similar price.
The other is that while I never ran into any issues with heat causing the system to throttle or overheat, the GS66’s chassis can get pretty toasty under load. Anytime I was doing anything more intense than browsing the web or watching a video, the Stealth fans were usually pumping out hot air from its side and rear vents. The Stealth fans never made it dangerous or uncomfortable, but they did make my hands sweaty while I was gaming.
Is Msi Gs66 Good For Gaming?
For gaming, the MSI GS66 Stealth laptop is a great choice. G-Sync and a QHD display make it look great. The Stealth will not be cheap but it is an excellent choice for gamers who want a powerful gaming computer that can go anywhere.
