The new TS driver is attracting rave reviews from all levels of golfers: lower spin and ball speed.
The TS3 drives a ball with a high speed. It’s also very robust. The TS3 driver is less accepting than the other drivers. However, the TS3’s MOI is higher and the face is thinner which helps to maintain a high ball speed even when the player moves off center. Titleist drivers shouldn’t be seen as only for “better players”.
Titleist also reduced the spin on their new driver generation. The keys to longer drives are high launch and low spinning, which is something that most golfers understand. While the TS3 is not the #1 spin killing driver, it’s more than capable of competing with – and often beating – any other driver on the market.
Titleist made it possible to adjust the TS3 driver in two different ways. Second is SureFit’s hosel. This hosel has been around for many years. The other is the SureFit CG Weight. Titleist introduced it in the 818 hybrids. But, the company has made the upgrade easy with the new TS woods. Rather than asking golfers to have two weights – one Neutral and one Draw/Fade biased – they’ve created one weight which can be neutral or biased. You can adjust the weight by sliding it into the port at the top of your head.
Finally, Titleist continues to offer a strong selection of stock shafts. Project X offers two brand new options: the HZRDUS Smoke or the EvenFlow T1100. The Kuro Kage shaft and the Tensei AV Blue MCA shaft are also available. An EvenFlow T1100 shaft was recommended by Titleist as it is a comfortable, smooth feeling shaft with a solid tip.

This is how I feel about the club.
Titleist had always been loyal to their drivers. They loved the looks, the sound, the feel and it really didn’t matter how long it was. The Titleist driver was a joy for these golfers. Titleist wasn’t happy that so many people who tried other company drivers would get yardage. A key reason was always spin. Many Titleist drivers turned too quickly, often leading to a loss in distance. Titleist was well aware of their slight fall in speed and launched the TS initiative 2 years earlier. The plan was to catch up and surpass their competitors in the driver market. Titleist offers drivers even non-loyalists need to check out, as it delivers speed.
Titleist encourages golfers to fit their driver for the new model. They have done this before with other clubs. But if your goal is to make the most of your driver, get fit. The company offers free fittings every Thursday throughout the country. You can get a good introduction to Titleist. There is also a chance you will leave with new clubs. Trackman Launch Monitor assisted us in determining the shot and data needed to place me as the best Titleist driver. When the numbers came in, I found a TS38.5* head at 45′ with HAZRDUS smoked 60g shaft. This combination gave me my best spin and launch results.
Titleist TS3 drivers will continue to appeal to Titleist loyalists. They have a pear-shaped design, are simple in colors, and are mostly black. SureFit’s hosel is still available with 2 cog settings to ensure the best fit. The TS3 model has an adjustable weight for moving the CG and changing some flight characteristics. Under the hood, there are some major changes. The titanium crown is lighter, and it has a faster chassis. It also features a quicker face, new aerodynamic shapes, and an improved aerodynamic profile. The new T3 is faster than any previous Titleist driver, and that’s exactly what it is.
I’ve reviewed Titleist drivers in the past and was even fit for them, but it seemed no matter how hard we tried, we could never really “best” my other drivers. The Titleist has changed this year. After fitting, I was amazed at the results I got from the Titleist. The TS3 was actually better than what I was currently playing. They don’t lie. This driver was an exciting addition to the team. Testing is to me the most important part. Numbers are amazing, nets are fantastic, but if your test doesn’t take place on a course with water and OB, all those numbers don’t matter. This club was very interesting to me on-course testing.
My first round, I found this amazing club! Bombs down the middle all day long. It made mid-high driving speeds and was well rolled. This was a great driver, definitely the best Titleist I’ve ever seen. But then came some driver swing yips. The next 3 rounds I was a mental mess. I couldn’t swing the driver for anything, I could barely hit the driving range. He kept pace with me when I took it over to a friend I often out-drive. Titleist was a winner. It was amazing to see how well he could hit this driver. After putting it in my bag, I was able to get my swing under control. For me, it was back to blasting it again.
