Looks

MAX head is the biggest of all three MAVRIK drivers heads. Although technically it is 460 cc (the legal limit), the head’s design makes it look larger.

Address has a straight line at the top, and the crown is extended backwards towards the grass. This is an inspiring look. The Max is not heavy but it’s still manageable. The standard MAVRIK is an important departure from Epic Flash, but the Max’s design looks almost identical to Callaway’s other generation of drivers.

It’s either loved or hated by people, especially when it comes to the orange details. Although I like it, Matt highlighted the fact that you can customize it according to your needs in his MAVRIK Sub zero review.

Fitters’ Take

Fitters’ Take is a new feature that we will be adding to select reviews. Club Champion’s Master Fitters panel will offer their views based upon their personal experiences and the things they see during fittings.

A Callaway MAVRIK MAX driver is being discussed by one of our fitters. He said, “Max will be a phenomenal line-up in this year’s lineup.” Other fitters (and their clients) have also been impressed at the new sound. Fitters also liked the design, with one saying it was the “best-looking Callaway head in years”.

Callaway Flash Face SS20 Technology is praised strongly by a single fitter. He stated that each model and each loft has a unique face designed to help different types of misses. It is because of these unique faces that MAVRIK drivers can accommodate any type of golfer.

It has most of the features of the Standard MAVRIK, with the addition of two interchangeable weights that can increase MOI and introduce a draw bias.

So, how does the MAVRIK MAX hold up on the course? Do higher handicappers choose the MAVRIK MAX over other MAVRIK variations?

Distance

For this review, it might be best to compare the MAVRIK Premium driver with the standard model.

I wasn’t surprised to learn that the MAVRIK MAX tends to be a touch shorter than the Standard; when you have a driver that’s meant for high MOI and forgiveness, you’re usually going to have more spin and consequently less carry and rollout.

Golfers who have struggled with the slice in the past will likely be able to gain significant distance. Because draws are more consistent than fades, you can adjust the MAX to add a draw bias, which will make your shots look more like a draw.

Overall though distance appears to be about the same as with previous generations Rogue drivers, which isn’t terrible.

Callaway Mavrik Max Driver Review, Photos And Video: Clubtest 2020

ClubTest 2020 has tested and evaluated 28 new drivers. Here are the Callaway Mavrik Maxi driver results.

This page contains the complete list of tested drivers.

Callaway Mavrik max Price: $499/BUY-NOW Lofts : 9. 10.5. 12, 12 Our conclusion: When you put your money into a powerful supercomputer capable generating 15,000 plus face designs every day in just days, what do you get? You end up with products like Mavrik Max. According to GOLF, Max has been a highly-requested driver. The ultra-forgiving and draw-biased Max features an AI-designed Flash Face SS20 architecture. This is made of an exotic FS2S titan, six times lighter than conventional materials. This red-hot face pairs well with the aerodynamic crown of Jailbreak Technology and company’s JailBreak Technology, which improves ball speed and overall efficiency. You can maximize your slice-busting tech or get even more forgiveness by placing the weight ports in the heel, back, and under the sole. Landing near the top in multiple performance categories in year one of production establishes Mavrik Max as a legitimate force in the driver category. While the club was more than a mile per annum faster than average ball speed, it also placed near the top in accuracy. This combination should be appealing to all handicaps, particularly those that fight for a slice.

ClubTester’s (16-hdcp take): “My slice suddenly disappeared as did my terrible toe miss. It’s almost like cheating.

Robot’s Take: Players with high swing speeds will be able to benefit from ball speed and a draw bias, as well as impressive accuracy. Slower swingers can expect more carry, draw bias.

Callaway Epic Max Vs Mavrik Max Driver Review & Comparison

Callaway loves to have “max” versions for most of its drivers. Max usually means more. This can mean more forgiveness and launch height.

This is certainly the case with the Mavrik Max and the Epic Max LS which are built for high to mid handicappers looking for more consistency and forgiveness.

If either one of these drivers is appealing to you, then you might be curious about the Max siblings.

There are many similarities between both, making it difficult to decide which one is better. This comparison will make it easier for you to decide.

Mavrik Max Vs Epic Max Ls Overview The crux of both the Epic Max LS and the Mavrik Max is to provide more ball speed and forgiveness. We are confident in both these aspects.

True ball flight was achieved by both the Epic Max LS and Mavrik Max LS even with low-face shots.

Flash Face, which is basically a curvature of your face, is partly responsible for this. This allows for spin to be kept low on the tee.

Evaluation

NEW FEATURES: After testing over 15,000 face designs (that’s a lot) in designing last year’s Epic Flash primarily to maximize ball speeds, Callaway went through fewer iterations with this year’s Mavrik line. This year, three Mavrik drivers were launched: The Mavrik, MavrikSub Zero and MavrikMax. All of these models use the Flash Face SS20 technology with a stronger, lighter, but still strong FS2S titan for a thin face that does not compromise ball speed. An internal rib system reduces vibration to increase impact feel.

DEFINING FEATURES. Callaway redesigned the aerodynamics of his club head to build on the success of Epic Flash’s driver models. The Mavrik model features Cyclone shaping. The Jailbreak technology, which has two bars interconnected between the crown and sole to increase ball speed — is still in Mavrik. An additional feather-lite triaxial carbon crown elevates the moment of inertia and general forgiveness.

TRUTHS AND DEFECTS: With today’s incredible technology, any one of these three models can be customized with weights, grips or shafts to suit your needs. The Max (my preferred model) is considered the most forgiving with interchangeable weights in the sole to balance out forgiveness with your ability to draw. To compensate for my inability to draw I have put all my weight onto forgiveness.

COST & VALUE: At $500 the Mavrik 3 improves the Epic Flash. Great. The question is, however, whether it’s worth $500. If you played Pebble Beach every day, at $500 a pop, you’d spend $182,500 in one year. A Mavrik driver costs $500. You could buy it at $500 and have it used for 365 rounds. It would only run you $500. It’s an incredible deal.

The Epic Flash driver was your last purchase, so it is hard to imagine why you should not buy the new one. Callaway’s driver technology in two years has been amazing. Next year, the model will be even better.

These three Callaway models are available for you to try if either your driver has never been used or you don’t own one. The results speak for themselves. After more than 400 drives, I am able to say that I have never felt a driver so comfortable. Having been fitted with the right shaft, right driver head and right grip, I’m ready to hit bombs like Phil Mickelson but right-handed — and hopefully I’ll land in more fairways.

Eric Hart was given equipment to review by the manufacturer.

What’s the difference between Mavrik and Mavrik max drivers?

Standard Mavriks have a moderate draw bias and mid spin. … The Max version is neutral with a draw bias.

Which Mavrik Driver Do You Think Is the Best?

Rated as the best driver for speeds above 94 mph. Callaway MAVRICK Max heads are great for those players at the middle of the range who may need some help to draw flight. I recommend this driver for those golfers that have low to medium swing speeds but need more carry. “More items…*Jun 18, 2020

Which Callaway Mavrik Driver Is Most Forgiving?

Forgiveness. The Mavrik Max driver is by far the most accepting of the three. But all three clubs offer some wonderful features that allow for more forgiveness. Callaway Mavrik series revolves around speed. Because speed is a way to get distance, it’s their primary concern.

Callaway Mavrik Max Or Taylormade Sim Max – Which Is Better?

Sim Max’s thin face makes them more appealing to faster players. Callaway Mavrik Max’s are more appealing to slower players because they have lower loft. The Sim Max’s had better feel but the Mavrik’s precise weighting and CG make them better game improvement irons.
