Although the Kobalt40V Blower can clean your driveway of mowing debris, it’s not going to blow you away. Unfortunately, the machine’s power is not as high as we had expected. Run time and price are exactly as we would expect. This blower should be used with reasonable expectations. It’s not commercial-grade, and it can only clean up after you are done trimming.

Kobalt 40V Max Outdoor Power Equipment Review

A few months ago I got to see the new Kobalt Outdoor Power Equipment 40V Max up close. This set includes 7 tools, all of which run on the same 40V lithium battery. These tools have been put through their paces over the past few months. I also tested them in my yard so I can give you an honest review.

Two of the first tools that were tested were the pole saw and the chainsaw.

With one fully charged interchangeable battery I was capable of removing a 25ft bradford pear tree trunk included! The pole saw was used to limber up the tree.

Within a couple of minutes, it had performed really well. It was easy to use and didn’t feel too heavy. With the included pole extension, it has a reach of 10.75 ft, which came in pretty handy for those hard to reach places!

As impressed as I was by the performance of the chainsaw in cutting down the other branches, so I decided to switch over.

It is possible to adjust last minute chains easily with no tools thanks to tool-free tensioning

Admittedly, if I were making a living as a lumberjack, I may not trade in my gas powered chainsaw for this one, but for my residential needs, I found it to be a worthwhile addition to my outdoor equipment. It’s much more quiet, than a traditional chainsaw, but definitely held its own cutting through the entire 11” diameter of the bradford pears trunk.
